Positive Thinking

Positive thinking: Reduce stress by eliminating negative self-talk

Positive thinking helps with stress management and can even improve your health. Practice overcoming negative self-talk with examples provided.

Is your glass half-empty or half-full? How you answer this age-old question about positive thinking may reflect your outlook on life, your attitude toward yourself, and whether you're optimistic or pessimistic — and it may even affect your health.

Indeed, some studies show that personality traits like optimism and pessimism can affect many areas of your health and well-being. The positive thinking that typically comes with optimism is a key part of effective stress management. And effective stress management is associated with many health benefits. If you tend to be pessimistic, don't despair — you can learn positive thinking skills. Here's how.

Understanding positive thinking and self-talk

Positive thinking doesn't mean that you keep your head in the sand and ignore life's less pleasant situations.

Positive thinking just means that you approach the unpleasantness in a more positive and productive way. You think the best is going to happen, not the worst. AND find the silver lining.

Positive thinking often starts with self-talk. Self-talk is the endless stream of unspoken thoughts that run through your head every day. These automatic thoughts can be positive or negative. Remember thought manifests. Some of your self-talk comes from logic and reason. Other self-talk may arise from misconceptions that you create because of lack of information. Your believe system plays a big roll.

If the thoughts that run through your head are mostly negative, your outlook on life is more likely pessimistic. If your thoughts are mostly positive, you're likely an optimist — someone who practices positive thinking.

The health benefits of positive thinking

Researchers continue to explore the effects of positive thinking and optimism on health. Health benefits that positive thinking may provide include:

Increased life span

Lower rates of depression

Lower levels of distress

Greater resistance to the common cold

Better psychological and physical well-being

Reduced risk of death from cardiovascular disease

Better coping skills during hardships and times of stress

It's unclear why people who engage in positive thinking experience these health benefits. One theory is that having a positive outlook enables you to cope better with stressful situations, which reduces the harmful health effects of stress on your body. It's also thought that positive and optimistic people tend to live healthier lifestyles — they get more physical activity, follow a healthier diet, and don't smoke or drink alcohol in excess.

Identifying negative thinking

Not sure if your self-talk is positive or negative? Here are some common forms of negative self-talk:

Filtering. You magnify the negative aspects of a situation and filter out all of the positive ones. For example, say you had a great day at work. You completed your tasks ahead of time and were complimented for doing a speedy and thorough job. But you forgot one minor step. That evening, you focus only on your oversight and forget about the compliments you received.

Personalizing. When something bad occurs, you automatically blame yourself. For example, you hear that an evening out with friends is canceled, and you assume that the change in plans is because no one wanted to be around you. At this point I want you to remember … what other people think of you has nothing to do with you … it has to do with their jealousy and insecurities, never take on their issues you know your truths.

Catastrophizing. You automatically anticipate the worst. The drive-through coffee shop gets your order wrong and you automatically think that the rest of your day will be a disaster.

Polarizing. You see things only as either good or bad, black or white. There is no middle ground. You feel that you have to be perfect or that you're a total failure.

Focusing on positive thinking

You can learn to turn negative thinking into positive thinking. The process is simple, but it does take time and practice — you're creating a new habit, after all. And sometimes you need to change your belief system or alter the brainwashing that occurred in the past. Here are some ways to think and behave in a more positive and optimistic way:

Identify areas to change. If you want to become more optimistic and engage in more positive thinking, first identify areas of your life that you typically think negatively about, whether it's work, your daily commute or a relationship, for example. You can start small by focusing on one area to approach in a more positive way.

Check yourself. Periodically during the day, stop and evaluate what you're thinking. If you find that your thoughts are mainly negative, try to find a way to put a positive spin on them. If you practice you might just catch your argumentative or protective mind off guard and store this positive idea as the truth in you subconscious.

Be open to humor. Give yourself permission to smile or laugh, especially during difficult times. Seek humor in everyday happenings. When you can laugh at life, you feel less stressed. You will find that if you change everyone around you change too.

Follow a healthy lifestyle. Exercise at least three times a week to positively affect mood and reduce stress. Follow a healthy diet to fuel your mind and body. And learn to manage stress. It is crucial to let go of your anger. Anger can pull you down. That is why exercise is important it will also help you to release the anger.

Surround yourself with positive people. Make sure those in your life are positive, supportive people you can depend on to give helpful advice and feedback. Negative people may increase your stress level and make you doubt your ability to manage stress in healthy ways. Positive people also have a higher frequency of vibration and can pull you up.

Practice positive self-talk. Start by following one simple rule: Don't say anything to yourself that you wouldn't say to anyone else. Be gentle and encouraging with yourself. Be your own best friend. If a negative thought enters your mind, evaluate it rationally and respond with affirmations of what is good about you. Remember who you are … you are this fantastic soul that GOD created. Do not let Mind interfere with your Soul Purpose.

Here are some examples of negative self-talk and how you can apply a positive thinking twist to them.

Negative self-talk
Positive thinking
I've never done it before.
It's an opportunity to learn something new.
How exiting…..
It's too complicated.
I'll tackle it from a different angle.
I know I can do this…
I don't have the resources.
Necessity is the mother of invention.
I will make it work…
I'm too lazy to get this done.
I wasn't able to fit it into my schedule but can re-examine some priorities.
The sooner I do this the sooner I am free to do what I like …
There's no way it will work.
I can try to make it work.
And if I can get it to work I am HOT…
It's too radical a change.
Let's take a chance.
I might like it….
No one bothers to communicate with me.
I'll see if I can open the channels of communication.
I don’t want to be in the dark….
I'm not going to get any better at this.
I'll give it another try.
And the I will accept the outcome..

Practicing positive thinking every day

If you tend to have a negative outlook, don't expect to become an optimist overnight. But with practice, eventually your self-talk will contain less self-criticism and more self-acceptance. You may also become less critical of the world around you. Plus, when you share your positive mood and positive experience, both you and those around you enjoy an emotional boost.

Practicing positive self-talk will improve your outlook. When your state of mind is generally optimistic, you're able to handle everyday stress in a more constructive way. That ability may contribute to the widely observed health benefits of positive thinking.

Know yourself

KNOW YOURSELF ……. WHO ARE YOU?             BY Michelle vd Merwe

“ We ARE  the “same stuff ‘ with all the same properties and abilities – including the ability to create physical reality out of thin air. My purpose in creating you, My spiritual offspring was for Me to know Myself as GOD. My purpose for you is that you should know yourself as Me. There is only one way to know yourself as me and that is for you first to know yourself as not Me.” (extract from ”Conversations with God” book 1) The promise of God is that you are He’s offspring. Its likeness, His equal.

The purpose of the human Soul is to experience all of it – so that it can be all of it.

I will explain this as I understand it. This is the “Jin and Jang” that the East speak of so often. The one can not exist without the other. You can not know what COLD is if you have not yet experienced HOT.
In other words you can not know who you are if you do not know who you are not.

After reading and researching several books I decided to ask my Angels to show me my truth. My truth, is the only truth after all. You will only keep what belongs to you once you read this.

God sated in all his brilliance that he is a god of LOVE and that he gave us FREE WILL and that we trough remembering who we are can be that Master soul he created.  For each circumstance is a gift and in each experience is a hidden treasure. He created us with all the knowingness in other words we were given all the knowledge. Now he wanted what we wanted and that is to experience that what we already know – but had to forget when we got body – in order to be able to experience. I can tell you what a Zebra looks like and what it is, but until you have been in it’s presence you have not experienced one.

It is much easier to change what you are doing than to change what another is doing. Seek then to create change not because a thing is wrong  but because it no longer  makes an accurate statement of Who You Are.
All the “bad” things that happen are of your choosing. The mistake is not in choosing them, but in calling them bad. For in calling them bad you call your Self bad, since you created them disown your own creations.
REMEMBER there are no “shoulds” or shouldnt’s - you made decisions based on the knowledge and the situation at that time and those decisions were right. Do not judge or condemn for you know not why a thing occurs, nor to what end.

Be watchful of the choices of others but not judgmental know that their choice is perfect for them at that moment. Allow each soul to walk it’s path.

Know this, there is no coincidence and nothing happens by accident. You are powerful and made of the “same stuff “ as God. Look at what you can do – you think it into being.

Here is some guidance that I know as fact:
1)       You can be do and have whatever you can imagine
2)       You attract what you fear
3)       A thought is forever and it creates
4)       Love is all there is
5)       There is no coincidences in the universe
6)       Think speak and act as the God you are
7)       Accept who and what you are
8)       The universe responds to “I AM” as would a genie in a bottle
9)       You are constantly in the act of creating yourself
10)    If you have passion for nothing you have no life at all
11)    The more you resist the more you make it real
12)    It is you judgment that keep you from joy and
13)    Your expectations that make you unhappy
14)    God wants for you what you want for you
15)    You always get what you create and you are always creating
16)    If you do not like what you created – then choose again.
17)    The universe is a big Xerox machine and produces multiple copies of you thoughts
18)    You are what you think you are
19)    All illness is self created – fear is worry magnified
20)    All tings are everything
21)    Everyone has psychic ability
22)    If something is not in your life there is a part of you that do not want it.
23)    Ask and you  shall receive
24)    All of live is a rhythm or freq. of vibration
25)    Enjoy everything NEED nothing
26)    Wisdom is knowledge applied
27)    Be aware honest and responsible
28)    Do not accept the unacceptable
29)    Here and now is all there is
30)    You will always get what you choose
31)    God never says no
32)    Each moment ends the instant it begins
33)    Soul never dies
34)    You cannot do totally aware you can only be totally aware
35)    You are soul that has a body

Remember there is only one sacred promise – and that is to tell and live your truth all other promises are forfeitures of freedom, and that can never be sacred. For freedom is who you are if you forfeit freedom , you forfeit your Self. And that is not a  sacrament , that is blasphemy.
Until you can create your future you can not predict your future and you cannot promise anything truthfully about it.

Addictions

Every eight seconds, a person dies due
to a tobacco-related illness, according to the World Health Organization.

Why do you
decide to take that 1st sigarette or drink or fix?

The answers vary, depending upon a
persons predisposition or
susceptibility to addiction; his home
environment, his mental state, his
genetics with family history, and other
factors. In other words, if he came
from a background of living long-term
with a family of addicts, socialized
with addicts in his neighborhood and
school environments, and already
battled with smoking cigarettes,
marijuana and other substances
routinely, this person may have a
difficult time to say NO.
Whereas, a person who had never seen
addiction up close before, either
in his family, neighbors, school friends,
etc., and who otherwise have a fairly healthy mental state, may be able to say
NO because they do not need that crutch.

What happens in the Sub-conscious mind
once you start a bad habit?

It is a learned behavioral condition,
generally with the existence of
emotional, physical and / or sexual abuse,
that affects people with or related (not necessarily “blood related” but
environmentally or socially) to those having alcohol or drug, gambling, sex, food,
work or other dependencies, or the mentally ill.
Your sub conscious mind will store it
as your truth because you are repeating it. It is like driving a car once you
get the hang of it your sub – conscious will take over and you some times do
not even remember actually driving only arriving.
Your sub – conscious are in control of
many things in your life, like breathing and walking.
Can you remember when last you took
notice of all the functions you do daily or does it just happen automatically?
The secret is to have the balance
be more in control take notice be more
aware stop existing and start living…..
How do you do that?
It starts with choice (remember you
have free will) – if you choose to change and you mean it you can be helped
instantly.
Until next time
Michelle

Healing 2011

Heal now!

If you are suffering from any medical condition please contact your licensed
medical practitioner
. The treatments listed below relies on alternative healing please note that no clinical trials or results are available and
rests heavily on anecdotal proof.

Health is among the things money can’t buy. Day by day, efforts and a healthy lifestyle are needed to be in good health. Each day should be seen as a new start. You should be open-minded about new things and prepared to learn. An active life and the ability to adjust to new circumstances play an essential role in the
health of body, mind and soul

Hypnosis and hypnotherapy - bookings available

During hypnosis the consciousness is in an
altered state where focused concentration is achieved at which time the person
so treated in neither asleep or awake. Placing patients in a state of trance
was a way in which they were treated in ancient times, since they were very
receptive to any suggestion or ideas.

Hypnosis and hypnotherapy is a very effective medical tool to help with the treatment
and management of stress and anxiety and can also be used to help break bad
habits. Not all people can however be hypnotized and if a patient is not
willing to submit to hypnosis, it cannot be induced involuntarily.

The stage use of hypnosis, which is performed to
amuse people, has no bearing on the medical application of hypnosis and
hypnotherapy.

During a hypnotherapy session, visualization can
be used to train and focus the attention on a specific image and this technique
is used with great effect to reduce stress, help overcome phobias and in pain
management.

Regression during hypnosis can help a patient
come to terms with a blocked-out image of trauma in earlier years when such
hypnotherapy is done by a skilled professional.

Patients can be taught the technique of self
hypnosis, which can be a most valuable tool when correctly used.

Meditation for complete relaxation - bookings available

If you call it quiet contemplation, or
meditation, it is a well known fact that this practice has a greatly relaxing
effect on the body and mind. Although most forms of meditation are from Eastern
religious origins, they have evolved into a non-religious, non-sectarian way
that is used by thousands of people to help with relaxation, emotional stress
and pain management.
Meditation became fashionable in the 1960s when TM (Transcendental
Meditation
) was brought to the West by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, which is a
simplified version of ancient yoga where a mantra is chanted or concentrated
upon during a half-hour session twice a day.

When Western researchers studied the physical
effects of meditation, they found that it slows the metabolism, reduces oxygen
consumption and lowers carbon monoxide production.
During meditation imagery can also be used for a
variety of treatments - from management stress to helping fight disease. During
imagery the patient goes into quiet meditation and then starts up the image of
what is to be focused on - for instance during cancer treatment the patient
will form an image of how positive the radiation is on killing off the
cancerous cells, or patients with broken bones will evoke the image of the
bones knitting together.
People also use this imagery or visualization to
help improve athletic or artistic performance.

When meditating, it is best to do it in a quiet
area and the first hurdle is to stop the stream of conscious thoughts flooding
your mind. This is where a mantra is useful, since you direct your focus onto
that.

First focus on your breathing, and take deep
regular breaths, and when other thoughts fill your mind, gently put them aside
and let them go. After a while you will find that your mind has far greater
control to keep other thoughts away during your meditation periods.

There are many books, audio as well as
videotapes, available to teach you how to meditate, but it may also be a good
idea to first be guided by a qualified instructor.

During meditation, the vaporization of essential oils may
also help to create an even more relaxed atmosphere, since some oils have
therapeutic
properties
that may be conducive to relaxation and meditation.

Reflexology / Reflex zonetherapy as used to promote health - bookings available

Reflexology is also known as reflex zone therapy
and uses specific points on the soles of the feet or palms of the hands to
influence certain organs and to treat disorders.

Although most people think that reflexology
originated in the East, modern reflexology was actually developed by an
American Ear, Nose and Throat specialist Dr. William Fitzgerald in 1913. His 10
vertical zones into which he divided the flow of energy to the feet and hands
were refined in the 1940s by Eunice Ingham who concentrated on the pressure
points found on the feet.

This is the way the origin of "modern"
reflexology is seen by the West, whereas the Indian and Chinese health systems
claim to have employed the use of reflexology pressure points for more than
5,000 years.
But whatever the real origins of reflexology may
be, a reflexology therapist may use pressure points on the feet, hands, ears as
well as other points on the body, the main focus still remains on the pressure
points found on the feet.
During a treatment session the entire foot is
worked upon and when points are found to be tender to pressure, they are worked
upon for longer periods to stimulate such area.

Practitioners sometimes talk about "breaking
up the crystals" and this refers to the spots where a problem may be
present, and instead of having a smooth skin and tissue texture, the area feels
as if small crystals are present, which are broken up when massaged and worked
upon.

Spiritual healing - bookings available

The belief in a Higher being, in whichever form a
person believes in, has been used throughout the history of mankind in healing.
Spiritual healing can take two forms - that of a sick person being healed
through his or her own belief in his or her God or Spiritual guide. The other
is where a Spiritual healer is used to assist the sick person.

In our modern hi-tech world it is not always
fashionable to rely on a Deity which you scientifically cannot quantify or
dissect, yet in times of desperation, when all modern medicine has failed with
a medical cure, it is always the Spiritual healing route that people turn to -
either through their own religious convictions or by using a Spiritual healer.

Although modern medicine scoffs at miracles, as
it once again cannot be scientifically quantified, they have been happening
since the beginning of time and although the skeptics may refer to these
miracles as "spontaneous healing" we do believe that such
"spontaneous healing" happens only by divine intervention.

People practicing as Spiritual healers come from
various religious denominations or simply believe in the Universe, and the
Universal healing power. What people should be careful of when seeking out a
Spiritual healer is to make sure that they are genuine and sincerely believe in
what they do, and are not merely con-men and charlatans seeking to make money
out of people's desperation - because these lowly and despicable types of
humanity do unfortunately populate this realm of healing and in so doing bring
great discredit to those who practice their belief with a pure heart and
compassion.

Spiritual healing is used in all forms of healing
from the most insignificant problems to life-threatening situations.

The mechanics of Spiritual healing cannot be
explained in medical terms, but could be said to be a time where the patient
and God become one, and where the Deity then intervenes and provides the
healing.

Spiritual healing can take many forms - for the
individual it can be quiet contemplation, prayer, acceptance of the Deity's
bigger plan in life, an acceptance of love, total forgiveness and understanding
that man is but a part of the universe and the greater plan of God, or where a
Spiritual healer is involved it could include prayer, incantations, meditation,
laying on of hands etc.

Faith and prayer are a powerful combination and
the results can be miraculous - discounting the charlatans that present
themselves in this field - and bring comfort and hope to thousands of people.

Hydrotherapy Products available

Hydrotherapy treatments

Innumerable people have experienced relief from their discomfort by
Sebastian Kneipp’s hydrotherapy. Kneipp said: “I don’t think there is any
medicine that has a more reliable healing action than water.“ Hydrotherapy is the where water is used
in a variety of therapeutic ways to treat disease and illness, alleviate pain,
promote relaxation, fight stress and enhance general health and well being. The
'father' of hydrotherapy is seen as
Father
Sebastian Kneipp
.

External hydrotherapy utilizes hot and cold water in a variety of ways and varies
from cool immersion baths, hot baths,
sitz baths, mud baths,
steam baths,
saunas, jacuzzis, showers, body
rubs, hot and cold packs, compresses, pressure hosing, douches and colonic
irrigation.

Although most Western medical people acknowledge
the benefits of hydrotherapy, there are certain therapies, like colonic
irrigation, which is highly controversial.

Internal hydrotherapy would be the taking of
water internally to help cleanse the body, and could take the form of a water
fast, where nothing but water is taken for a period of time.

In formalized medical facilities, hydrotherapy
can be performed by trained medical personnel including physiotherapists and in
a health spa it is normally applied by the trained natural health personnel or
massage therapist.
Hydrotherapyis useful in treating muscle and joint pain, inflammation, burns,
frostbite, chest congestion, sinusitis, headaches, fevers, indigestion,
detoxifying, stress etc and can also be used as part of a rehabilitation
program after injury or surgery.

Essential oils are often used in conjunction with
hydrotherapies to enhance the action of the therapy being performed.
Almost
every treatment starts with a bath. Brine baths stimulate the metabolism and
bubble baths double the effect of most bath salts. Pleasant baths with
relaxing, stimulating, invigorating and refreshing properties:• Aroma bath:
pleasant to the senses.

• Carbon dioxide bath: water bubbling out of a spring.

• Herbal bath: nice-smelling herbs added to a bath.

• Liquid Sound: taking a bath in an environment of light and sound.

• Whey bath: for a healthy skin.

• Rose flower bath: having a bath like in fairyland.

• Floatation bath: relaxation in salt water.

Sulphur bath:
for persons affected with rheumatism or neurodermatitis.

• Brine bath: having a bath in salt water.

• Thermal bath: Taking advantage of the power of thermal water.

BE ALL YOU CAN BE

I am busy writing a book on Spiritual Intelligences. I am currently on page 18 and will be sharing this book on line with you in sections on a weekly basis.

Here is a preview:
These lectures help us to experience
that what we already know.

It is exquisitely adapted to inform us in the most perfect way

Each experience which comes to us, great or small, is part of the enlightening process, and each one of us encounters just those experiences which are needed to give us the best opportunity for our next step forward. You already know everything, but the "veil" lifts with love.

Few of us take advantage of the teachings of daily life, unless forced to do so by some bitter experience. Divine wisdom guides the vibrations of every atom as well as the swing of the planets, the life of the least one of us, as well as the destinies of nations.

Thus, wisdom is the essence distilled from knowledge by the alchemy of the Soul.
The cause of our own sorrow and pleasures, our success and failures lies within ourselves. The 1st step is to now yourself.

KNOW YOURSELF ……. WHO ARE YOU?

“ We ARE  the “same stuff “ with all the same
properties and abilities – including the ability to create physical reality out
of thin air. My purpose in creating you, My spiritual offspring was for Me to
know Myself as GOD. My purpose for you is that you should know yourself as Me.
There is only one way to know yourself as me and that is for you first to know yourself as not Me
.” (extract from ”Conversations with God” book 1) The promise of God is that you are He’s offspring. Its likeness, His equal.

The purpose of the human Soul is to experience all of it – so that it can be all of it.

I will explain this as I understand it. This is the “Jin and Jang” that the East
speak of so often. The one can not exist without the other. You can not know
what COLD is if you have not yet experienced HOT

In other words you can not know who you are if you do not know who you are not.

After reading and researching several books I decided to ask my Angels to show me my truth. My truth, is the only truth after all. You will only keep what belongs to you once you read this. When you follow your Truth, doors will be opened that will influence many, it may even feel that you aren’t doing anything, but you transform everything.

Stop existing and Start Living

What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis works by placing you in a meditative state or trance.

In truth, hypnosis is something most of us have experienced in our everyday lives. If you've ever been totally engrossed in a book or movie and lost all track of time or didn't hear someone calling you, you were experiencing a hypnotic trance.

Hypnosis creates a hyper-attentive and hyper-responsive mental state, in which your subconscious mind is
susceptible to suggestions.
Under Hypnosis we place new suggestions into the subconscious mind, which brings about a new state of thinking. This is very effective in changing negative patterns and healing the mind. All memory is stored in the subconscious mind, which is in control of the body’s “functioning” and the conscious “thinking” process.
